Jeanne Pommier was born in Currie, Minnesota on June 6, 1931 in her parents bedroom. She was the first baby baptized in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in that community of 600.
On November 1, 1952, she arrived in Palmer, Alaska, met her husband to be, Keith Stanton, and obtained a job in the school office where he taught.
Jeanne and Keith were married at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Palmer, on June 6, 1953. The couple moved from the Territory of Alaska to the Lower 48 in 1955. As parents of eight children, they are responsible for the creation of twenty-six souls.
