About this Book:

I Don't Want To! is a positive, problem-solving story for children, and for parents and teachers, who read to children. The story is about Ty, a second grader, who says I Don't Want To! at home and school, to just about anything someone says to him. The reader follows Ty's adventures one day, from the time he gets up in the morning, to the time he goes to bed at night. Ty learns that not thinking before he talks gets him into problems at home and school. Ty learns about consequences when he says I Don't Want To!, to a fun time with his Dad. The book helps children learn about easy-to-use strategies, and understand that listening and thinking about their choices before speaking, will result in positive words. Children learn that good things happen as a result of good choices. Ages 5-9 years old.
