Those unfamiliar with Latin may be asking, “What does Extra Muros mean?” Very simply it means “outside the walls.” And that is one of my personal passions: to take the truth of God’s Word outside the walls of the Church. Hence, most of these essays deal with topics often ignored by the teaching ministry of the Church.
I believe that all truth is God’s truth, and that all of God’s Word applies to all areas of life. To put it another way, one of the tasks of the Church is to train its members to think Christianly about everything. There is no sphere of life where Christ is not Lord; hence, there is no sphere of life where His Word does not apply. True Christianity entails the restoration of all things according to the revealed will of God. We must learn to see all things in light of revelation. And I mean all things: politics, economics, law; education, language, art; literature, theatre, music—all things. Only then will we be on the road to that renewal of mind which leads to a truly biblical world-view.
