About this Book: |

In this collection of short stories, the settings vary from, middleclass suburbia to the slopes of an 8000 meter peak.
In Summit Fever a mountaineer, succumbing to the lure of one of the highest peaks on earth, must decide whether to save her boyfriend/climbing partner, or continue up the last 300 feet to the top.
In Gretchen of Wisconsin a fat college boy from the south and a fatter college girl from the north, collide at a Christian camp in the Rockies where they have joined other campers to swear vows of abstinence until marriage. The tale pivots on the power of the sexual urge, the subversion of deeply held beliefs and anorexia.
