If the writer went on to explain all you must do to earn your $5,500,000 is allow the transfer of $55,000,000 into your bank account, would you be interested? Hundreds of Americans have been taken in by this scam. They have sent millions of dollsrs to Nigerian conmen to pay "fees and bribes" required in releasing the money for transfer to American banks. Spotting the scam, the writer responded to several such letters, stringing the Nigerians along, accumulating information to turn over to Nigerian and American authorities.

A private citizen receives what appears to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get his hands on several million dollars. When he discovers the offer is a scam set up to bilk him of thousands, he begins replying to similar letters, leading the conmen on. The result is a humorous, sometimes hilarious exchange of letters and emails between the citizen and the scammer.
