Anita L. Allee lives near a small town in Missouri. She has a BS degree from the Univ. of MO. Her rural and family background enances her knowledge of family relationships and animals. Her avocation is historical fiction, in which she excells with her four previously published books. This book recounts some stories told by her homesteading grandmother when they went to Baca County, Colorado, during the land rush days of the 1890's.
