About this Book:

Young Fletcher Guyman enters a CLOSED community in 1857 in an attempt to make a life for himself. To combat his lonliness, he receives a teen age orphan from the Orphan Train. The teen ager has unexpected baggage. The pair continue their friendship through the Civil War, one going to the southwest and then into the Red River Campaign of Louisiana, while Fletcher remains to contend with the problems of war within the state of Missouri.

About the Author:

Retired School Teacher and Professional Volunteer, BS degree from the University of Missouri. Lives with husband of 47 years at the eastern edge of the small town of Versailles, MO. The mother of 2 grown daughters and 5 grandchildren.
