Sometimes shocking, but always honest and to the point...Shaumyan provides a profound look at day to day American life with a language throbbing from the city streets. Though Shaumyan was born in Russia, his poetry most certainly fits into the alternative American literature tradition of the post-beats.

Cleverly-written, "Canzoni dimenticate" blurts out what the 20th century man is afraid to say out loud. It's a combination of raw emotions and stellar moments:
"Escalate clovers in shafts of gray,
the most peaceful revenge is indifference.."
(From the poem, "Indifference")
Not for the highly principled. Great read.
