Aileen O'Connor Cronin was born in Lake Orion, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Music (Piano, Organ and Voice) from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Her Master of Fine Arta was awarded by the University of Detroit. She received her Ph. D. in American Studies (Theater, History and Literature) from Michigan State University. For thirty years she taught Music, Theater and Art History at Lake Orion High School. Carlotta was the subject of her doctoral dissertation. She now resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with her husband and three sons.
