Page Sizes and Paper Types
We offer 4 different page sizes for your book: 4 1/4 inches by 7 inches, 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches, 8 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches, and 6 inches by 9 inches. 6 x 9 size book will always be undersized. To get a quick idea of these sizes, take a piece of standard letter-size copy machine paper. (Refer to the diagrams at the right.) This paper is normally 8 1/2 by 11 inches in size so, unfolded, you will have the 8 1/2 by 11 inch size. If you fold this paper in half so that the two short sides meet, you will have the 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch size. If you imagine each of those dimensions being one-half inch more, you will have the 6 by 9 inch size.

Although we used copy machine paper here as an example, the paper stock we use for book printing is actually much heavier than that type of paper. Typical copy machine paper is 15 or 20 pound paper. Paper weight is the designated fixed weight of 500 sheets, measured in pounds, in that paper's basic sheet size. Paper has different "basic sheet sizes", depending on the type, but we use 60 pound paper which is roughly 3 times heavier than 15 or 20 pound paper.

The largest case bound page size is not 8.5 x 11, but 8 x 10. Please refer to our 8 x 10 manuscript template to set the book in correct format before you place an 8 x 10 case bound book order.
