About this Book: |
|
The book is an unbelievable experience in higher education that needs to be revealed about the nurses involved, nursing and higher education power abuses. The public also needs to know how easy it is to lie to the CCNE and the U.S. Department of Education. It is imperative to educate the public on what these agencies cannot protect us from.
A student is terminated from a clinic for being a patient advocate. The college places the student on probation. After that, no matter what the student does to comply with the probation, it issn’t good enough for the college administrator’s. The college undergoes a policy change in October 1998 that the student is unaware of since she entered in 1997. The college uses this policy change to permanently dismiss the student. When the student challenges the college in a “grade appeal” trial (9/2000), the college places a professor on the jury who had read the student’s work in July, 2000 and agreed that the student should not graduate per the State of Missouri Human Rights Commission. The professor is a nurse attorney.

Book Review: |
|
The Die Was Cast For You and I is an autobiographical, non-fiction book. It is the epilogue to the first book entitled, Civil Rights Violations at Graceland University. The author analyzes three discrimination investigations and compares the notes of administrators answering the same question differently. The nurse administrators fabricate information so the university’s accrediting agency and the state and federal investigators do not discredit them. The university accuses the student of being unethical, dishonest and lacking integrity in an email then lies to state and federal authorities. A letter that was never sent to the student was sent to the CCNE regarding a refund they offered the student that never took place. After the investigations the student reads the letters and cannot believe what the administrators made up. The student shares her feelings of anger, rejection, belittlement and harassment throughout the book. The student’s nursing career was destroyed but her dream of becoming a Hispanic, primary care provider lives on. All citations have been taken from emails and letters which will be provided to the reader at no cost.
