About this Book: |
This is a true story, based on life as it was lived by the North Georgia pioneers who came into the mountainous area in 1833. It follows the life of Clark Dyer and how he came to have a remarkable theory about a design for a machine that would provide controlled flight. It documents his toils to bring his vision to fulfillment. There were no cameras or newspapers in this isolated area at that time, and Clark's story is based on information gleaned from every available source--old newspapers, census reports, family recollections and historical records, some copies of which are included in back of the book.

Book Review: |
"I just finished reading Flying off Rattlesnake Mountain. It was awesome. I felt frustrations of raising families in harsh environs and lack of funding. If Micajah had been closer to the monied big-city people, his plane may have come to fruition. Thank you for sharing the life story of your brilliant, yet humble patriarch." Judy
