About this Book:

Many people, both rich and poor, find themselves in difficult situations in life which seem to be out of control, unbearable, irreversible and hopeless. The types of issues people struggle with are countless. Not knowing what to do, many remain in their deplorable condition permanently and too many die in that situation regrettably. The Bible tells us of such a person, blind Bartimaeus, begging on a pavement in Jericho, but he refused to die there, so he used what he had to get off that pavement (Mark 10:46-52). Unlike Bartimaeus, many wealthy people live on pavements of depression, worry, addiction, inner turmoil of all kinds and many (even millionaires) check out through suicide. No one is exempted. Find out how to get off your pavement and fulfill your life’s purpose or help others to get off their pavement in this engaging book.

About the Author:

Richardson George graduated from the Open Bible Institute in 1982. Subsequently, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eugene Bible College, USA in 1987. Upon returning to Trinidad, he served as a part-time teacher at the Open Bible Institute. From 1992 to 1998, he served in the capacity of President of the Open Bible Institute, and from 1998 to the present, he has been functioning as the Vice President. Additionally, he is the founding pastor of the Gasparillo Open Bible Church (1995) which he pastored for 21 years. He currently pastors the Claxton Bay Open Bible Church. He graduated from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology in 2013 with a Master of Arts Degree. To date, he has authored six books with the other five listed inside. He feels a sense of great joy when people get off their pavements and maximize their potential and fulfil their God-given purpose in life.

Book Review:

Hundreds of people from Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Islands have benefitted from the teachings and writings of Rev. Richardson George. His lectures at the Open Bible Institute of Theology have been well received. In fact, personalities have been affected when students came to him with questions, unsolved problems, hurting and wounded personalities, and seeking guidance for their lives and ministries. This book “Use What You Have” helps us to understand “The Pavement of Life”. It is filled with invaluable teachings that are appropriate for people in varying circumstances of life. On a daily basis we interact with leaders, teachers, the less fortunate, the person bound by circumstances beyond his control and the one who sits on the pavement. This book shows us how to use what we have to our benefit and how to touch others. Every Bible school student who wants to go into ministry to reach others should read this book. Rev. Richardson George has brought to our focus, the issues that plague our lives, as we sit on the pavement. We could be blind, deaf, dumb, insecure, disappointed with life and ourselves, but we can reach out to God. This book should be put in the Bible School Library for the students. I highly recommend this book for school and the Church. Faith Ragoonath (Caribbean Regional Promoter for Hospital Christian Fellowship
