About this Book: |
|
Depression is a complex interplay of body, mind, and spirit. Unfortunately, most people being treated for depression address only the physical component. Research in the last 8 years has show that the mind and spirit play a far more critical component in treating depression than any physical predisposition to this affliction. This book uses the "thinking styles" identified by cognitive therapy, the approach to treating to depression that has the longest lasting results, and provides answers to these "cognitive distortions" that are rooted in Scripture and the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

Book Review: |
|
Rev. Krueger’s insight into grace and application of cognitive behavioral therapy is a powerful combination for helping people deal with depression. His classes at the “House of Hope” have been instrumental in helping women identify the errors in their thinking that have held them captive to depression. In his class women learned how to replace faulty thinking with biblical truth that sets them free.
Melody Graham, Ph.D. ~ Professor of Psychology
Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Rev. Krueger has devoted extensive research and organization of material to facilitate the understanding of depression. The Biblical perspective is harmonized with physiology, neuroscience, and psychology in discussing a more effective and thorough healing available through God's gift of medical resources and through the guidance of Holy Scripture.
