About this Book: |
|
There are many books about the Sabbath. This one is unique in that it puts the Sabbath into the larger context of how much continuity there is between the Old and New Testaments. It is by examining other Old Testament laws that we can see New Testament principles that allow us to evaluate the validity of Old Testament laws. Many arguments used for the Sabbath, for example, could just as easily be used in favor of circumcision—showing that there is something wrong with the argument. The argument does not take into account the difference between the old and the new covenant.
For the most part, this book is a collection of articles and Bible studies previously published by the Worldwide Church of God and available on the WCG website. It is being published in book form for those who want all the materials gathered into one presentation.

About the Author: |
|
I have, at different times in my life, kept the Sabbath and various Old Testament laws. At other times, I have not. In my Christian ministry, I have written against the validity of the seventh-day Sabbath, and I have written in support of it. I have studied the issues from both sides, both in theory and in experience. I know the arguments of both sides, and in this book I hope to share with you what I believe to be the best understanding of Scripture.
What are my academic qualifications? I have a Bachellor's degree from Ambassador College, a Master of Divinity degree from Azusa Pacific University, and I am a doctoral candidate at Fuller Theological Seminary. I am a member of the NewLife Fellowship in Pasadena, California, serving in youth ministry and sometimes giving sermons.
