About this Book: |

Esther is a unique book in the divine library of Books called
the Bible. It is the only book in the entire Bible where there
is no direct reference to God. There is also no mention of
religious terms such as prayer, worship, etc., in the entire
book. And yet, though God is nowhere mentioned in the
book of Esther, He is present and working everywhere in the
book.
Behind each scene in the Book of Esther you can see the
shadow of the Almighty directing from the wings. Although
we never actually hear or see God in the story, we have an
overwhelming sense of confidence that He is just off-stage,
cuing the characters and orchestrating the drama to preserve
His people from a tragic ending.
It is easy to see God in the miraculous, but it is not so easy to
see Him in the mundane. However, that is where most of us
live. We live without seeing handwriting on the wall or
hearing thunder from Sinai. We live without God at center
stage, but with God directing unobtrusively from the wings
of our lives. This is all the more reason why we need to be
sensitive to God's voice; so we can be aware and attentive to
the subtle ways in which He works.
