About this Book: |
|
What happens when you sit and carve all day? Where do the ideas come from? What do you see, and your hands feel? Al Jensen puts words to the experience, and the figures come alive in a way that is only matched by the completed carvings themselves. This is a book for woodcarvers and anyone who knows one.

Book Review: |
|
"Enter the sixth sense of the Woodcarver. Al's poetry in wood begins with a keen blade and ends only when he puts down his equally incisive pen. Chips flying? To be sure. Wooden words? Knot in this word pile. Just a great cast of characters, each with a story and a stump to tell it from." -- Tony Welch, Oregon City OR
"Unique and delightful...Al's use of words to create rhythm and rhyme is as carefully carved as any of his works in wood. These verses left me wanting to carve words myself. Open this book with a curious ear, read each poem aloud, and enter the world of a master carver." -- Caryl Bauwens, University of Idaho.
