Black and white software Q&A

Q: Why do I get the invalid password screen when I know my password is correct?
A: This is more than likely caused by your browser not accepting cookies. To fix this problem in IE click tools, internet options, security, trusted sites, sites, and add http://www.instantpublisher.com to your trusted sites.

Q: Why does my browser go into a non response mode when I select my uploaded document?
A: Your browser will act like this because our software has actually taken over and is re-downloading your manuscript to your computer for proofing purposes. This may take some time if you are on a slow connection or have a large file.

Q: Why does my document not show up in the display window after uploading?
A: Some browsers will not display this information without refreshing, or going to your library to view the document.

Q: Why does my document look like it is at a low resolution in my library?
A: Because the viewer is only meant for checking your document and cannot be used to determine quality. The only way to determine quality is to print the whole document to a laser printer using the direct print method by clicking the print button in the viewer, not the print button on the browser.

Q: Why does my document look different when I upload vs. the copy on my computer?
A: This is usually caused because the default printer was not set to Instantpublisher.com

Q: Why do I get a swiftview license not found or network error when trying to send my document?
A: This is usually a network issue on the senders end. You must be connected to the internet when sending your document.

Q: Why do I get a wininet 12029 network connection error?
A: This is because you are behind a firewall and it is not letting your book pass. With the McAfee firewall disabling it will not work you will have to uninstall the software.

Q: Why do I get a Data Checksum error when I try to open the uploaded document?
A: This is a random error that occurs when somehow something gets messed up in the download process. It is generally due to internet connection issues, so that try again would usually solve the problem.

Q: Why the installation fails after upgrading from Window 98 to 2000 or XP?
A: Uninstall SwiftPublish and SwiftView Viewer from Control Panel -- Add/Remove Programs, then remove the port from Printers...File...Server Properties...Ports, and reinstall the software.
